Following a bitter and prolonged fight among the officers and directors of the First National Bank of Missoula, Ferdinand Kennett, Gustavus A. Wolf, James H.T. Ryman, Charles Otto, Lucretia Worden, Levi J. Fisk, and August Wierich established the Western Montana National Bank on March 21, 1889.
